A Personalised Wedding Day at Eleven Eighty, Coolangatta | Darin & Gemma
Every wedding has its own soundtrack, and Darin and Gemma’s day at Eleven Eighty in Coolangatta was built around songs that meant something to them. I love working with couples who bring their own ideas to the music, because those choices help make the day feel personal from the first note to the final song.
For the ceremony, the couple chose Jose Gonzalez’s “Heartbeats” for the processional, followed by “Collide” by Howie Day and Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” during the signing. The recessional was “Simply the Best” in Noah Reid’s version—a celebratory way to finish the ceremony.
The reception had a different energy. The couple wanted their bridal party entrance to make an impact, choosing “Let’s Get This Party Started” by the Black Eyed Peas and asking for it to be played loud to get everyone in the mood. Their first dance was “Miracle Love” by Matt Corby, with “If You Don’t Know Me by Now” by Simply Red selected for the parent dance.
That contrast between thoughtful ceremony choices and upbeat reception moments is one of the best things about wedding music. You don’t need to stick to one style all day: you can create a calm, romantic atmosphere early on, then build the energy as the celebration moves into the evening.
If you’re planning a wedding at Eleven Eighty or elsewhere around Coolangatta, I can help you shape a music plan around your favourite songs, timeline and the atmosphere you want to create.
